Two owl cards were made. Which one looks better? The fruit stamps for Keely's grocery bag got some touching up too. Does this count as crafting? Yeah, it does for me. The gloomy, windy, rainy morning has left and now the sky is a perfect cheery blue. The Kinderbot is napping (ever so briefly). That's it for today.

Whelp, here is a slightly more interesting rice bag. Not too bad. However, the bobbin is out of thread now. EGATS! I didn't attempt at fiddling with that with Keely around. She had to sit on my lap while I sewed the little patch on. Oy!

Gingerbread muffins have been made. They are good. A little dollop of whipped cream on top. Oh the joy. The little one even liked the sampled one. Maybe she can eat one for dinner since she eats little else, huh?

The sewing machine came out of the box, bobbins were threaded and sewing was done. Frankenbags were made. Okay, they aren’t too bad for the first thing ever to be sewn in this house. Everyone seems to enjoy them. The next batch will be only filled with rice (beans are to hard and heavy) and they will be a bit more creative in appearance. We have big plans for you little sewing machine-bags, pillowcases, capes, sleepsacks, quilts……oh just think of it all.

Happy Chinese New Year! Let’s hope it’s a good one. For good luck we did eat unbroken noodles last night.

There is the intimidating beast. Still in the box. When will she be taken out? Hmmmm.
My current Everest.
Breakthrough of the day—-
Keely: “When you be mean you say sorry mommy.” “I’m sorry mommy.” WHOA!
and surprisingly her saying it did make it all better. My anger and frustration went right away. Will she ever say it again? Could I record her saying it and play it back at appropriate time? Yes, yes I could.

How cute is this baby? She’s ours. We’re hers. Hard to believe that that was just over two years ago. Seems like so long ago. I guess that’s why it’s hard to keep in my head that she is only 2 1/2 and her temper tantrums and other undesirable behavior are to be expected. She isn’t a 5 year old that can be rationalized with. I need to remember she hasn’t been here for that long. She is still a baby in many ways.
In other news, craftiness is not happening this week at all. Bummer. Maybe next week.

Cute as a dancing mouse, but obviously a sick little girl-runny nose, red and glassy eyes. Poor girl.

Well, here she is. The almost cheapest, hopefully easiest sewing machine to be had. I have no idea how to use it. The manual might as well be in Arabic. I am clueless. Perhaps within oh…a month I will be able so sew something. This blog could end up being a diary of the mundane or maybe a journal about the persuit of craftiness. We shall see.
The wee one is napping (for now). The dog is crunching his food loudly. The cat is sleeping on the couch. My head is pound
ing.
Then there is good ‘ole George. Here is someone I can count on to take a good nap. Keely put him down for his nap today on her bed and what a sleeper. Not a peep was heard from this one. If only Keely would follow his example. Gotta love George the Horse.
