Have stress, will organize
July 20, 2006
So when I'm nervous or stressed, I clean or organize something. Yesterday after Keely's nap I cleaned up my ribbon spools.
They were all coming unraveled and dangling down all over the place and now they are all pretty much rolled up. I have two more boxes of pretty ribbon that won't fit up there on those spools though. That's a bummer because I really like to look at them. They're pretty. I plow through the falling towers of thrifted sheets on the floor of my dark, messy, craft closet and sit my giant angelic harp on the floor in front of them and play odes to their prettiness.
I don't really have a harp.
I do like to sing about my ribbons.
(You look pret-TEE! Oh so pret-TEE! So grosgrain-y and satiny and Briiiiiiiight!…..)
pardon me.
Here's a Tip from the Trench I guess. I used these clear over-the-door shoe organizers in my classroom to hold all sorts of stuff. I quickly brought that idea home. I have this one inside my craft closet.

You are a ribbon laden nutball. Seriously. But we love you anyway. Look, I’m commenting!!! Wow! That means I have TEN minutes on the computer this evening at hubby’s office.
And I’m sure Keely will be fine, although my girls are all worried about her now, too.

Please come to my house and organize me. I have one of those over the door thingies for my craft stuff too but, fatal flaw, it isn’t see through. I can never find anything in it.
Your ribbons are something else – are they for gifts or sewing or both? You can’t really buy ribbon on spools here, only by the metre, so I have a tin which is a jumbled mess of half unwound ribbons that always need ironing before I use them.
