bloglines, trim, the HEAT, a coffee table
What's up with bloglines? It's been saying that there aren't any new posts and then one day it pops up that there are tons of new posts! I'm sorry if I haven't been around to visit you all. I didn't know you were posting. I figured everyone had melted in the oppressive heat. My. God. The. Heat!
So we waited until the hottest week of the summer to tackle a project 4 years in the waiting- our dining room and kitchen cap molding. See the gap between the chair rail and the door trim? Yeah. Two rooms of our house have looked like that forever. We've gotten used to it. Hubby did all the big trim work when we renovated, but we couldn't find anything to match the original cap trim in the rest of the house. Finally, we found a match and finally hubby went and got some. So, now we have our doors open and the hubby is sawing in the backyard and nailing trim in the dining room. Did I mention how flippin' hot it is? Good golly. I am SO cranky when it is this hot. I can't think straight because I'm on FIRE.
What I did manage to do was clean up Keely's corner(s). She had all her stuff in one corner of our living room, but it was getting too cramped and messy. I moved her garbage prized possesions into TWO corners. Wow! I know! How exciting. It looks cleaner I guess.
Then, here's the real special part…we have our coffee table back, on a trial basis. When Keely started crawling we moved it behind the couch where it couldn't hurt her. It is a chest on metal stand and it has dangerous edges. We've missed having a table in our living room, but the open floor space gave her lots of room to safely play. I got the table out and she whacked her head on it twice yesterday, not hard thankfully. I think she is getting used to it being there and now barring any other close calls it will be staying.
It doesn't get any better than this people.
Trim work and a coffee table appearance, that's all I've got.
Is this even blogworthy material? I don't think so. BUT IT'S HOT! grrrrr. So, here is a picture of our living room WITH a coffee table. Do I really want to post a photo of this? Oh what the heck. I've got to give ya something, right?
Hey, I see some blocks under the couch there. hmmmm.
Anyway, this blog is supposed to be for my craft stuff (ha! and where is that stuff at lady? I see no crafting) and for documenting Keely's life since I've really slacked off writing in her journal and our daily life. I think it would be neat to read about what my mom and I did in our everyday life while I was little. Hopefully, Keely will enjoy reading this stuff when she is older.

So. I apologize if the kiddy details and seemingly mundane stuff bores ya. I will get back to crafting soon. Really. I will.
