For many years I taught preschool after I majored in early childhood education in college. I am wowed by your ability to intuitively know about your child's interests and abilities. I knew so many parents and educators who want children to be little adults. As a wise person said once, "the business of childhood is to play". I raised my son in a similar manner and he is now grown up. I still want to make the play food though. A long time ago Vogue had a pattern of fabric watermelon, eggplant, and some other stuff in pillow size. I had such fun making them at the time just because...Alas, I have moved so many times that they were lost along the way.

Stop it, cause you are making the rest of us look bad, lady. But really, I think I'll just steal all your play food ideas and try to convince myself I am also clever and creative. Ummm, enough about me... I love the tea bags, as you can tell and I think Bea would as well. -- now, to check out all the other creative people in those links...

I'm popping for my daughter to get old enough to pretend play. I already have a whole bunch of wooden food I've picked up here and there. I've sewn a few eggs, etc. I think it's just that *I* can't wait to pretend play with her. Burritos for two, comin' right up. Thanks for the inspiration!

Just when I thought you had run out of ideas! I am loving the play food ideas. How about a lemon colored sack in a mini pie pan with cotton balls on top? Lemon Meringue Pie anyone? Tea Bags, I could have never dreamed that up!

And do not beat yourself up about your mode of operation. I am reading this fascinating book about creativity and what "makes" people creative and you have to go with the flow of your genius dear (as you have observed with Keely).

Those tea bags are so cute. Why not? If Fisher Price can make food out of plastic (filled with dyes and all sorts of horrible chemicals), I think fabric food is delightful!

How sweet!
My kids love to play pretend and have tea parties. I've been thinking of making placements + napkins for them... i think I'll add some tea bags to my list. They would love them.

Thanks for the inspiration.
