I am wowed by your ability to intuitively know about your child's interests and abilities. I knew so many parents and educators who want children to be little adults. As a wise person said once, "the business of childhood is to play". I raised my son in a similar manner and he is now grown up. I still want to make the play food though. A long time ago Vogue had a pattern of fabric watermelon, eggplant, and some other stuff in pillow size. I had such fun making them at the time just because...Alas, I have moved so many times that they were lost along the way. And do not beat yourself up about your mode of operation. I am reading this fascinating book about creativity and what "makes" people creative and you have to go with the flow of your genius dear (as you have observed with Keely).
